The American Legion
Established in 1932, the Sons of The American Legion (S.A.L.) pays tribute to the dedication and sacrifices of Legionnaires. S.A.L. membership encompasses males of all ages whose parents or grandparents served in the U.S. military and qualified for American Legion affiliation. Together with The American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary, S.A.L. forms the Legion Family, boasting a collective membership nearing 4.2 million.

Eligibility for S.A.L. Membership:
All male descendants, including adopted sons and stepsons, of American Legion members are eligible for membership. Additionally, male descendants of veterans who perished in service during designated periods, spanning from World War I to the War on Terrorism, or following an honorable discharge, are also eligible. S.A.L. maintains solely active membership, without any alternative forms or classes.
